People search for "best kratom for sleep" every night, and most of the pages that come back are happy to answer. We're not going to, and the reason is the whole point of this page.

Kratom is not approved in the United States for any use, including sleep. The FDA states that kratom is not lawfully marketed as a drug product, a dietary supplement, or a food additive. So we can't tell you what a strain does, how much to take, or when to take it. Anyone who does is guessing, or selling.

What we can tell you is everything about the product itself. The vein. The farm. What's in the bottle. What the batch test came back at. What it costs. That's a shorter page than the one this replaces, and every line in it is something we can point at.

The honest answer

There's no version of this page where we tell you which product will help you sleep. Not a careful version, not a hedged version. We're not allowed to and we don't know.

Here's what that leaves, and it turns out to be plenty. Kratom leaf is sorted by vein color and by strain name. It's sold as powder, as capsules, as liquid extract, and as pressed tablets. Everything we sell gets tested by a third party, batch by batch, and those results are public.

If you're shopping, those are the things that actually separate one product from another. Format decides how you take it. Vein and strain decide what you're buying. The batch test decides whether the label is true. Price decides whether you buy it twice.

If you're dealing with sleep trouble that's lasted more than a couple of weeks, that's a conversation with a clinician, not a shopping decision.

Vein colors, plainly

Vein color refers to the color of the veins and stem on the kratom leaf when it's harvested, which tracks with how mature the leaf is and how it was dried. Red, green, white and gold are the four you'll see on our shelf.

That's the whole factual story. Vein color is a sorting and processing fact. What people extrapolate from it varies enormously by who's talking, and we're not going to add to that pile. What we actually stock

Red vein leaf, powder and capsules

Our Red Vein collection has exactly four items, and they're two products in two formats.

Red Maeng Da Kratom Powder is a single strain. The name comes from Thai, where "maeng da" is a grading term rather than a region, so a Maeng Da label describes a selection standard and not an origin. Sizes are 45 g at $15, 100 g at $35, 500 g at $60 and 1000 g at $100. The same leaf in capsules is Red Maeng Da Kratom Capsules, at $10 for 50ct, $40 for 200ct and $120 for 1000ct.

Relax Blend Kratom Powder is a blend of red vein and green vein leaf, handpicked at a family-owned farm in Pontianak, Indonesia. Same size and price ladder as the Red Maeng Da powder. Relax Blend Kratom Capsules match the capsule ladder.

Powder and capsules hold the same leaf. Powder is cheaper per gram and you measure it yourself. Capsules cost more per gram and come pre-measured, with no taste. That's the trade, and it's the only one we'll make a claim about.

Kava-forward bottles

The GÜD Tonics line is a 2 oz bottle built on noble kava root extract with a kratom extract in the mix. The TropiColada label lists water, organic glycerin, noble kava root extract, natural preservatives, stevia, mitragyna speciosa extract, piperine extract and natural flavors. We publish the full ingredient list because a customer who finds out what's in the bottle after they drink it is a refund and a bad review.

What we don't carry

Roundups about kratom and sleep tend to run through a standard list of red strains. We don't sell most of them, and saying so is cheaper than pretending.

Not on our shelf: Red Bali, Red Borneo, Red Sumatra, Red Horn, Red Thai, Red Indo, Red Kali, Red Vietnam, Gold Bali or Yellow Vietnam. Our red vein selection is Red Maeng Da and the Relax Blend, in powder and capsules. That's it.

How we test

Every batch goes to a third-party lab and the result gets posted on our Lab Results page, organized by product, with lot numbers and test dates on the documents themselves. You don't have to email anyone or fill in a form to see them.

That page is the thing to check before you buy from anybody, us included. A vendor who won't show you a current batch test for the specific product you're holding is asking you to take their word for it. Age and shipping

21+ only. Kratom law varies by state and by county, and it moves. We keep a current restricted list on every product page, and our checkout verifies shipping destinations against it.

We're not going to publish a state-by-state count here. The tallies floating around the internet contradict each other and go stale within weeks. Check the product page for the live list, and check your own state's rules, because ours is a shipping policy and not a legal opinion.

How we revise this guide

This page has a date on it because it's meant to. Our guides get revised as new information arrives and as we learn things, and we'd rather show the seams than pretend a page written once is true forever. When we get something wrong, we fix it here and say what we fixed.

Which red vein kratom does GRH sell?

Is kratom a dietary supplement?

No. The FDA's position is that kratom isn't lawfully marketed in the United States as a drug, a dietary supplement or a food additive. An older version of this page said otherwise. That was wrong and we've corrected it.

How much should I take, and when?

We don't give serving or timing guidance, and we've removed the guidance the old version of this page carried. Read the product label, and if you have questions about whether kratom fits with anything else you take, ask a clinician.

What's the difference between the powder and the capsules?

Same leaf. Powder costs less per gram and you measure it yourself. Capsules cost more per gram, arrive pre-measured and have no taste.

What's the difference between the King K extracts?

Format and concentration. Silver, Gold and Platinum are liquids, Prime is a pressed tablet. Each product page carries that item's full specification, and the batch test for each is on the Lab Results page.

Do the GÜD Tonics bottles contain kratom?

The three flavored tonics do, alongside noble kava root extract. The Raw Kava Extract Powder does not. Full ingredient lists are on each product page.
