About This Product
OPMS is produced by Optimized Plant Mediated Solutions and distributed through Martian Sales. The brand is built on three tiers: Silver (plain leaf, not an extract), Gold (extract), and Black (a different extract formula). Market consensus orders potency Silver, then Gold, then Black, but that ordering is positioning rather than measurement. OPMS's own differentiation is qualitative, not quantitative.
Two things a buyer should know before purchasing this product from anyone.
FDA advisory. On 26 July 2024 the FDA published a consumer advisory stating that consumers should not consume OPMS Black Liquid Kratom, citing an adverse event report of a person who died after using it along with reports of withdrawal, addiction, and other effects. The American Kratom Association publicly asked FDA to withdraw the advisory. FDA has not withdrawn it, and it remains published on fda.gov. We are telling you because it is public, it is specific to this product, and you deserve to make an informed decision rather than find out afterward.
Litigation. Two cases are active. Pope v. OPMS et al., a wrongful death suit filed in Georgia in 2022 naming this product. And C.B. v. Martian Sales, Inc., a putative class action in the Southern District of California (3:23-cv-00645) covering OPMS Gold capsules and Black Liquid on failure-to-warn grounds.
Product Origin. OPMS does not publish sourcing information, manufacturing location, or lab partners for this product. The one Black Liquid certificate in public circulation is hosted by a distributor rather than by OPMS, is dated January 2023, lists the lot as N/A, and covers microbiology and heavy metals only. Its own revision history notes that the alkaloid assay was separated out into a document that is not published.
We would rather state all of that plainly than imply a level of verification that does not exist for this SKU.
